SELMA SIS grew from the very successful student management system, SELMA, which was founded in New Zealand, in 2016 by David Straub.
Before founding SELMA, David spent many years working in the education sector, giving him a deep insight into its inner workings and many challenges. Since the launch, David has helped hundreds of schools (tertiary educators, training organisations and community providers) streamline their administrative processes and manage compliance.
To create SELMA SIS, we took all we learned from making the original SELMA such a remarkable success, then tailored and fine-tuned the offering to suit the specific needs of short-term training programs and community education providers.
To achieve this, we invested countless hours speaking with educators who specialise in providing short term courses, asking them about the issues and pain points that they encounter. We then took these learnings and adapted SELMA SIS to tick all of those boxes.
